Plymouth Industries Inc. is seeking a skilled Fabrication & Repair Technician to join our growing manufacturing team. This position focuses on the inspection, repair, refurbishment, reinforcement, and modification of steel racks, carts, and other material handling equipment used in demanding industrial environments.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in welding and steel fabrication. This role requires the ability to evaluate existing equipment, interpret drawings or repair instructions, and restore or modify products to meet customer specifications and safety standards.

Job Duties:
• Inspect steel racks, carts, and material handling equipment to identify damage, wear, or required modifications
• Perform structural repairs, including cutting, welding, reinforcing, straightening, and replacing damaged components
• Modify existing racks and carts to meet updated customer requirements or engineering specifications
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, repair instructions, and work orders
• MIG weld components to restore structural integrity and ensure safe operation
• Perform general fabrication tasks, including drilling, grinding, cutting, rolling, and tube bending
• Verify repaired or modified equipment meets quality, dimensional, and safety standards
• Document repairs, modifications, and production output per company procedures
• Communicate fabrication issues, improvement opportunities, or discrepancies to Engineering or Production Management
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all company safety, quality, and production guidelines
Requirements:
• MIG welding certification
• Forklift certification
• Ability to meet individual production goals and deadlines
• Strong understanding of fabrication safety practices and shop standards
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Physical and Work Environment Demands:
• Must be able to stand/walk/work for 8-10 hours per day
• Must be able to lift and/or move 25lbs., occasionally lift and/or move 40lbs
• Must be able to bend, twist, stoop, and squat, reach above shoulders as needed for day-to-day responsibilities and other miscellaneous duties
• Must have good hand and eye coordination
• Must be able to work overtime, during peak production periods
Experience:
• 2 to 5 years of hands-on fabrication, welding, or industrial repair experience preferred
• Experience repairing or modifying steel racks, carts, or material handling equipment is a plus
Education:
• Welding and/or fabrication certification from a two-year college or technical school preferred, not required
